GRISWOLD'S LODGE

Griswold’s Lodge is a new experience in Ontonagon, MI. Purchased in 2021, and newly transformed into Griswold’s Lodge, we are excited to continue the legacy of the lodge, offering a cozy place to rest after a day of Michigan adventures. A family business, the lodge is named for our beloved dog, Griswold, found in the woods in Brainerd, MN in 2019. We hope to bring the comfort of home to your Michigan vacation, with updated, dog-friendly rooms, and local guidance to help you get the most out of your stay with us.

THE OWNERS

We love to connect and chat with our guests because their stories are what made us become hotel owners. Paxton visited the Porcupine Mountains in 2020 and fell in love with the area, in return we took a leap into a new adventure in 2021 – we bought a lodge! Being brother and sister, our partnership evolved naturally: Ali is our hotel expert with 10 years in the industry, Paxton is a renovation whiz who works in construction. Together, we’re excited to welcome you to Griswold’s Lodge.

I drove 20 hours straight to come work in Ontonagon. I had no idea what to expect. Carly, the new owner greeted me with a smile. She has gone out of her way to make sure that I had a room even when she had no room for me. She has honestly worked endlessly to accommodate myself & my travel nurse co-worker's. If she didn't have a room she called around to find a room. These owner's are very caring. The rooms are very clean and well stocked. It's a very safe and homelike environment. This is the place to stay! I can't wait to come back on vacation and see the renovations. Did I mention that the beach is a 2 minute walk from the hotel? Syls restaurant is literally next door and their food and customer service is also amazing.
